Ronald
McDonald Houses serve more than 8,000 families each day around the
world, saving them over $311 million a year in hotel
costs!
The Ronald McDonald House provides a "home-away-from-home" for
families of seriously ill children who need a place to stay while
their child receives treatment at an area hospital.
Every year, PSCI staff picks a day and
spends and afternoon planning, preparing, and serving dinner to the
families staying at the Ronald McDonald House of Delaware.
Though volunteer hours had been suspended due to COVID-19, earlier
this year the Ronald McDonald House re-opened their doors to
volunteers and PSCI jumped at the chance to help!
On October 12, our staff spent the afternoon preparing a hot
meal that consisted of ham, homemade macaroni and cheese, green
beans, baked beans, chicken nuggets, dinner rolls, fresh fruit, and
salad.
The work this charity does is truly commendable, and we look
forward to volunteering once again.
Earlier
this month, PSCI was both a sponsor of and vendor at the
annual Secure Delaware Cybersecurity Workshop.
Hosted by the Delaware Department of Technology & Information, and
held at the University of Delaware, the event focused
on spreading cybersecurity awareness.
This year, for the first time since 2019, the event was held 100%
in-person!
Talks focused on zero trust security, risk mitigation, the early
cyberattacks in the Russia-Ukraine war, and other trends as they
relate to cybersecurity.
As data breaches and ransomware attacks become increasingly more
common, cybersecurity awareness is paramount.
We look forward to attending the event again next
year!
