Network Security Engineering Consultant
About the Role
Our client is seeking a Network Security Engineering Consultant to help design, implement, and support secure, resilient enterprise network infrastructure environments. This role will focus on network security engineering, firewall administration, routing, application delivery technologies, and overall network optimization.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, engineer, deploy, and support enterprise network infrastructure solutions.
- Configure and manage firewalls and firewall rule sets across enterprise environments.
- Support proxy services, load balancing technologies, and application delivery platforms.
- Configure and troubleshoot routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
- Support and maintain Web Application Firewall (WAF) technologies.
- Manage DNS and DNS security configurations and troubleshooting.
- Administer and troubleshoot web proxy technologies.
- Utilize monitoring tools, automation, orchestration, and scripting to support network operations and optimization.
- Support secure configuration management and enterprise network security initiatives.
- Document network configurations, procedures, and operational standards.
Required Qualifications
- Strong experience in network security engineering and enterprise infrastructure support.
- Hands-on experience configuring and supporting firewalls and security policies.
- Experience with routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
- Experience supporting proxy services, load balancing, and application delivery technologies.
- Experience with Web Application Firewalls (WAF) and DNS security.
- Familiarity with network monitoring, automation, orchestration, and scripting tools.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem management skills.
- Strong documentation and communication abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting large-scale enterprise network environments.
- Experience with secure configuration management practices.
- Familiarity with cloud networking and hybrid infrastructure environments.
- Experience working within highly available or mission-critical environments.
