Position Overview
Our client is seeking a Senior Project Manager with a strong cybersecurity background to lead complex security and identity management initiatives, partnering with technical and business stakeholders to deliver enterprise projects on time, within scope, and with measurable business impact.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage complex cybersecurity and information security projects from initiation through implementation and closeout.
- Manage projects focused on Identity and Access Management (IAM), including Single Sign-On (SSO), Identity Governance & Administration (IGA), role-based access controls (RBAC), and related security initiatives.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, timelines, RAID logs, risk registers, and executive-level status reports.
- Facilitate project meetings, stakeholder working sessions, and vendor coordination activities.
- Identify project risks, dependencies, and critical decisions, escalating issues appropriately to ensure project success.
- Serve as the primary liaison between technical teams, business stakeholders, and third-party vendors.
- Coordinate project activities across multiple functional teams while ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
- Adapt project management methodologies to meet the needs of individual projects while maintaining appropriate governance and documentation.
- Provide clear and concise communication to both technical and non-technical audiences throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of project management experience, including at least 3 years leading cybersecurity or information security initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience managing Identity and Access Management (IAM) projects, including technologies and processes related to SSO, IGA, RBAC, and access management.
- Experience managing compliance-focused technology projects, including those involving regulatory or security requirements.
- Strong project planning, risk management, stakeholder management, and executive communication skills.
- Experience coordinating third-party vendors and implementation partners.
- PMP certification or equivalent project management experience.
- Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within higher education or similarly complex enterprise environments.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, HITRUST, or comparable standards.
- Familiarity with Identity and Access Management platforms such as Okta, SailPoint, CyberArk, or similar solutions.
- Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or related credentials.
- Experience working within a formal Project Management Office (PMO).
