Position Summary

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior IT Program Manager to lead the successful delivery of a large-scale SAP modernization program.

This individual will oversee multiple project managers and workstreams, manage system integrator deliverables, and coordinate activities across internal technology teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and external partners.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience delivering complex enterprise technology programs, managing third-party vendors and system integrators, and driving large-scale transformation initiatives within established scope, schedule, quality, and budget requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple related IT projects and workstreams supporting a large-scale SAP modernization initiative
• Manage and provide oversight to project managers and program team members
• Oversee system integrator scope, deliverables, statements of work, and overall execution
• Coordinate activities across project management, quality assurance, business, and technology teams
• Identify and manage project dependencies, technical risks, issues, and change impacts
• Develop mitigation plans and escalate significant program risks when necessary
• Ensure projects remain aligned with established schedules, budgets, scope, and business objectives
• Manage program resources and ensure required project artifacts and deliverables are completed
• Partner with business and IT leadership to plan, scope, and execute strategic technology initiatives
• Coordinate systems testing, deployment, training, and production support activities
• Prepare and communicate program status updates to senior leadership and executive stakeholders
• Manage vendor performance, contractual deliverables, and service-level commitments
• Support organizational change management and communication activities
• Monitor program financials, schedules, risks, milestones, and overall performance
• Build strong relationships across business, technology, vendor, and leadership teams
• Support continuous improvement of project and program management processes

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience leading large technology projects, or 10+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
• Strong experience managing complex IT programs and enterprise technology initiatives
• Experience overseeing project managers or multidisciplinary program teams
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies and governance frameworks
• Experience managing third-party vendors, system integrators, and onshore/offshore delivery teams
• Strong knowledge of requirements management, quality assurance, and IT project lifecycles
• Experience managing project budgets, forecasts, and financial planning
• Ability to manage schedules, dependencies, risks, issues, and deliverables across multiple workstreams
• Strong communication, presentation, organizational, and facilitation skills
• Experience working with senior and executive leadership
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
• Ability to meet applicable regulatory or eligibility requirements associated with the position

Preferred Qualifications

• PMP certification
• MBA or advanced degree
• Experience with Primavera P6
• Experience with JIRA or similar project management tools
• Experience delivering large-scale enterprise technology transformation programs
• Experience with SAP modernization or SAP S/4HANA programs

Additional Information

• Minimum of 3 days onsite per week in Newark, NJ
