Senior Data Architect / Data Engineer

Location: Onsite

Overview

Our client is seeking a Senior Data Architect / Data Engineer to support the development, management, and optimization of secure data infrastructure. This individual will develop data pipelines, improve ETL processes, automate workflows, and help provide reliable access to real-time data.

Candidates must live within approximately one hour of the job site and be available to work onsite.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize scalable data infrastructure.
  • Design and support data pipelines and ETL processes.
  • Automate workflows that enable efficient and real-time data access.
  • Monitor and improve data quality, reliability, and performance.
  • Implement data security, governance, and compliance standards.
  • Support cloud-based data platforms and related infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with technical and business teams to understand data requirements.
  • Troubleshoot data integration, processing, and infrastructure issues.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, cloud engineering, or a related role.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Python, Java, or Scala.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Azure or another major cloud platform.
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity, data governance, regulatory compliance, and secure data-management practices.
  • Ability to work onsite and attend an in-person interview.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting government, public safety, legal, or other highly regulated data environments.
  • Certification in cloud engineering, data engineering, cybersecurity, or a related discipline.
  • Experience working with GIS data.
  • Familiarity with real-time data-streaming technologies.
  • Experience with Apache Airflow or similar workflow-orchestration tools.
